The Mayoral Candidate’s Responsiveness to their Constituents

blog_archivesWelcome to El Paso Politics 1st ever test of the Candidate’s Responsiveness to their Constituents. With less than two weeks left in the campaign, with our reader’s help, we are about to embark on a test of our candidate’s willingness to address issues directly from the constituents.

We’ve been promised the moon, but can they deliver? Each candidate has stated publicly that he or she will address the issues that affect the citizens of El Paso and will be responsive to those needs. In the last two weeks of the election, with limited time available to each candidate, will they or one of their staff members each take a minute or two to answer your questions? Or will they just ignore those questions or figure that one voice is not important enough?

Help us answer these questions and more, before you go to the polls on May 5, 2001. Ask a question of a mayoral candidate by filling out the following form. We will then fax and e-mail this question to the candidate’s headquarters. On Thursday, April 26 at 5:00pm, we will stop accepting questions in order to give each candidate enough time to answer. Each candidate or one of his staff members will have the opportunity to respond via e-mail or fax by 5:00pm, Saturday, April 28, 2001. On Monday, April 30, 2001, we will post all the questions asked of each candidate and what response, if any, we got.

So will the candidate’s take the time to respond? Let’s find out!

Thank you for your participation. As of 5:00pm, Thursday, April 26, 2001 we will no longer be accepting questions. For those of you who submitted questions, they are being forwarded to the candidates. We will publishing the results on our next issue which comes out on Monday, April 30, 2001.
