Last Minute City Maneuvering Delays Court Hearing Until September 30

Information AlertLate on Wednesday, at last minute, the city filed a motion that effectively stops the judge from taking action on the pending motions before the court on the Stephanie Townsend Allala’s open records request. Because one of the motions made by the city alleges that the judge no longer has jurisdiction on the case, the judge is forced to rule on that motion before dealing with the rest.

There were other motions filed by the city included in their latest action.

Because I have to complete some research on this latest action and new revelations that have come to light in the last few days, tomorrow’s blog post will not be published until the afternoon.

In the meantime, today’s court case that was scheduled for 9:00 am was postponed until September 30, 2013 at 9:00 at which time the judge will rule on the city’s latest motion to include the assertion of sovereign immunity and the motion challenging the judge’s jurisdiction.

In tomorrow’s post I will detail the motions filed by the city and how other events that have come to light recently betray a sense that there is still ongoing collusions between certain city officials, both past and present.

  1. I was against the Ballpark but now after implode, I feel it should be build at this late point.

I agree with Ortega….it takes a warrant-court order, as the ACLU says, never consent to a search be it where ever, in your car, home or effects…never give consent always demand a warrant.

    Always fight actions without warrants.
