Tucker Carlson is Stupid

Before anyone gets too upset about the title it will all make sense once you read the post. Tucker Carlson, like many Donald Trump supporters, tried in vain to defend Trump’s performance with Vladimir Putin. The problem for most is that Trump refused to hold Putin to account over Russian interference in the 2016 elections. Carlson did his best to misdirect by trying to equate Russian interference as something all other countries do. Carlson used México as an example.

Here is what Tucker Carlson said:

“I don’t think Russia is our close friend or anything like that, I think of course they try to interfere in our affairs. They have for a long time. Many countries do. Some more successfully than Russia, like Mexico, which is routinely interfering in our elections by packing our electorate.”

Forget all the controversy over Russia and focus on what Tucker Carlson is saying.

Carlson argues that México is “packing” the U.S. electorate to influence the elections.

To understand the idiocy of Carlson you just need to acknowledge the inconvenient fact that only American citizens can vote. For a Mexican to vote, he or she must first become a U.S. citizen. For most, it takes five years of living and working in the United States, oh, and paying taxes before they can become a citizen. Only after becoming a citizen can a Mexican citizen vote in an election.

To vote, a Mexican citizen must follow the law to cast a vote.

The Russians were indicted because as foreign and non-immigrants they are prohibited from voting and involving themselves in an election. Mexicans who become naturalized citizens have the same rights as U.S. citizens, including the right to engage in politics and cast votes.

As a naturalized American citizen, the voter can cast their vote to elect a representative that would best represent the needs of the new citizen.

In other words, a Mexican citizen who becomes a U.S. citizen is exercising not only the right to cast a vote, but also the responsibility to engage in the future of the country.

But Carlson’s idiocy goes deeper when one realizes that most Mexicans prefer to keep their Green Cards instead of becoming U.S. citizens. And, as of that wasn’t bad enough, Hispanics are notorious for not voting.

Clearly, México does not have a plan to interfere in American elections as Mexicans tend to shy away from American politics.

Some readers may be tempted to argue that some immigrants have voted illegally before. All the evidence shows that, at most, it is a few illegal votes cast. They are not enough to make a difference in the election. But, try arguing it anyway.

Clearly, Tucker Carlson is an idiot.
