If you listen to Sean Hannity, you will note that Hannity has been spinning the Special Counsel investigation into a hoax perpetuated upon the American people. Hannity argues that there is a two-tiered legal system in America; one for Trump and another for Hillary Clinton. Donald Trump, for his part, argues that it is all a “witch hunt”. It is spin designed to keep Trump’s supporters in line. But here are few poignant facts to throw cold water on all the spin.
Michael Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison for his tax evasion and fraud guilty pleas. Another two months were added for lying to Congress. Both sentences are to be served concurrently, meaning that Cohen will be in jail for about three years. He was also ordered to pay $2 million in fines and forfeitures. Cohen argued for leniency, telling the judge he did “dirty deeds” for Donald Trump. Therein lies the proof that the Russia Probe is not a hoax, or witch hunt.
Although Cohen was not sentenced for his direct role in Russian collusion, the fact remains that Cohen publicly stated that he did “dirty deeds” for Trump. Cohen was Trump’s long-term lawyer. And most important, Cohen is the acknowledged “fixer” for Trump.
Michael Cohen knows where all of Donald Trump’s skeletons are.
Cohen has about three months to ponder his three years in federal prison. He was ordered to surrender on March 6, 2019. During that time, Cohen can help himself by cooperating with investigations. He may earn additional leniency or support by prosecutors for a more comfortable prison setting.
Michael Cohen is also relieved of any commitments to Trump and thus he may feel the need to vent.
All that can lead in only one direction, more information on the questionable activities and possible criminality that Donald Trump, his children and the Trump Organization engaged in.
The legal microscope has now zoomed deeper into the Trump group exposing even more details about Trump, his business and his family.
Coupled with the legal liability Trump is facing with his hush money payments to two women who alleged having sexual relations with Trump and the upcoming take over of the House by the Democrats makes impeachment more of a reality now.
At this point, it is not whether Trump will be impeached, but rather, how soon Donald Trump will be impeached by the House.
