Boos and Chants of Look Him Up

On Sunday, Donald Trump was met with large-scale boos and chants of “lock him up” as he was announced at Game 5 of the World Series. Just when Trump was thinking of taking a victory lap for ordering the killing of a terrorist the truth that he is so desperately trying to avoid slapped him clear across his orange face.

Donald Trump went to the game basking in the belief that America would cheer him for ordering the killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Ordering the killing of a terrorist is supposed to be the moment a country’s leader gets to celebrate a victory, even with those who oppose him. U.S. voters especially rally around the leader when terrorists are involved.

It was to be the moment that Donald Trump would celebrate a victory with the country.

Instead what Trump got was a stadium full of Americans disgusted with their president.

Donald Trump and cohorts have been desperately trying to create the illusion that Trump has the support of most of the country. Trump tries to argue that the polls showing his dismal numbers are “fake”. Trump also argues that Americans are against the impeachment inquiry into his conduct. He basks in the illusion of broad support that he derives from Trump supporters – most bused into his venues – while delivering speeches of greatness to his devoted followers.

What happened at the World Series brought the illusions into the reality that Donald Trump is likely the most despised president the United States has ever had.

I’d even argue that Donald Trump is only second to Benedict Arnold of the people that America most despises.

What is poignant were the calls to “lock him up” chanted by the crowd.

Donald Trump spent his first presidential campaign calling for Hillary Clinton to be “locked up”.

She hasn’t been “locked up”.

But Donald Trump is not only looking at being impeached, but he may also need to start contemplating a prison sentence, as well.

Donald Trump went to the World Series game to bask in the adulation of the country, what he got, instead, was a stadium full of boos!
