Riots: Either Everyone Is An America, or No One Is

Many are shocked with what is happening in America today. Maybe it is because of the realization that 100,000 Americans are dead due to Covid-19 the latest American divide scares many Americans. It should, but it isn’t new. The riots are a manifestation of America’s dirty secret. The secret that not all Americans are equal.

Oh, America pretends to be equal. It even has the equal clause in its constitution. But America has never been equal. It was founded on slavery. But the Civil War settled that many believe. Did it?

Consider that in America, citizens are asked, many times forced into the signifying the color of their skin in the form of selecting “race”. Everyone pretends it is about equalizing the playing field because it allows others to scrutinize government records to see if minorities are being discriminated against.

The fact that someone must scrutinize skin color proves that America isn’t equal.

But it is trying according to others, hence the question about race.

The underling driving force in U.S. policy is to marginalize people.

To separate people into neat little piles.

It is easier to manage neat little piles then to manage the whole. The marginalization is insidious.

Consider the fact that it is official U.S. government policy to use the label illegal immigrant to label certain people who do not meet the standards said by those who divide Americans into neat little boxes.

As long as it remains acceptable to label people as illegal it makes the recent riots part of the American landscape, today and tomorrow.

Want to solve the divide in America?

It is simple, everyone should be equal regardless of citizenship, skin color, education, social economic status, or any other little box – such as language – that some Americans like to use to divide America.

Either everyone is an American, or no one is.
