American Riots

The first sign that a dictator is losing his grip on his nation is when he deploys the military to hold the line. North Korea has its military on the streets. Iran has its military patrolling their streets. In countries where the people want a change in their government, the military is deployed to the streets.

Donald Trump has threatened to deploy the U.S. military to quell the violence and the looting from the rising protests across the nation. Protesters have moved on the White House forcing Trump and some family members to hunker down in the bunker.

This imagery demonstrates that Donald Trump is under siege by a significant, if not the majority, of Americans. By threatening to deploy the U.S. military, Donald Trump is nothing more than a dictator.

The White House is under siege, thanks to Donald Trump.

What Americans are experiencing today is what many used to watch on television when they saw news reports of unrest in countries like Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, among others.

There is a chaos on American streets.

Looting and protesters on American streets isn’t new. In many ways it is as American as apple pie.

But things are different now.

Rather than attempting to calm down the American people, Donald Trump is instead threatening to shut down the nation by deploying U.S. military forces against American citizens.

It is true that U.S. soldiers have been deployed before to help stop violent protesters. In the 1960’s they were used to address racial issues. In 1970, to break up a postal strike in New York. In 1989, George H. W. deployed troops after Hurricane Hugo and in 1992, in response to the riots after the Rodney King verdicts the military was used to help stop the rioting.

The difference this time, is that the threat to use the military is national rather than in specific locations where the rioting is centralized.

America is on fire and the reason is Donald J. Trump.

  1. I think he should call the military off. It is the responsibility of the local officials to keep the peace while also allowing ppl to protest. Yet, Americans mostly small businesses are losing everything they have worked for in these riots. And the local officials and at times the governors allow this to happen. Yes, racism is evil and should be done away with. Yet, by allowing these individuals To go unpunished for the crimes they commit while hiding behind a protest will build prejudice against ppl of color. Destruction of property for any cause is counter productive. As a citizen of this country, a Latino, I was behind this protest against police brutality up and until the first stone was thrown through the window of a business/church. I no longer agree that these cities who help fuel the destruction with the anger and suffering of minorities and so I ask that every citizen protect their city and bring their own justice.
